I think health information technology will make the delivery of health services more efficient than what it is now. It will keep records accurate and deliver information in a timely manner, which will consequently, facilitate the patient's experience at every doctor or hospital visit. On the other hand, I can't help but be afraid of the technological glitches a system like this might experience. I say this because, although it's rare, systems do crash and it can be so unpredictable. At work, our system crashes a couple of times a year, complicating a whole day's work. Again, I know a system crash would be rare, but I'm sure it can happen and I can't imagine the havoc it would cause if a hospital's health information system were to shut down for a day or even a few hours.
